Most of us live like the wind - moving back and forth, from one day to the next.

But I believe that our life is not just an accident, and that we all have to participate in its “design”. You can call it lifestyle design.

Since the release of the movie "The Bucket List" starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, even more people have started writing down a list of their own goals.

Setting goals isn't just about writing a list. This is the starting point towards designing the life we ​​live. Perhaps it's time for you to think about all the big and small things that you would like to accomplish in your life.

Every year, usually in December, people make a list of things they would like to achieve in the next year. However, these are short-term in nature. 100 life goals will set you more ambitious goals. There is an opinion that every person should have a goal in life. This is the cause for which he wakes up every morning in order to take a few more steps towards its implementation. It is believed that those who do not have a goal live their lives in vain and meaninglessly. After all, the desire for development lies within itself. The goal is just the finish line, and achieving it is the path along which the individual must improve and change.

Unfortunately, many experts note that the aimlessness of people is the scourge of modern society. This is especially common among the very young, Paradox, because today’s life with its achievements and various benefits, it would seem, should stimulate a person to receive them. And what should normal goals be? Examples of them may be different, but despite the fact that we are all different from each other, there are common aspirations inherent in every adequate member of society.

What kind of person can there be?

Examples of goals that any sane person wants to achieve:

Although there are exceptions - people who put their lives on, for example, inventing some kind of medicine to save humanity, inventing new technologies, equipment, and flying objects. They believe that the main goal in a person’s life is not small, provincial, selfish aspirations, but global, large-scale achievements that are useful to absolutely everyone.

No purpose in a person's life

Examples of this can be found often. It is not clear why one has desires and aspirations, while the other does not. Psychologists and sociologists believe that it’s all about a person’s motivation: it either exists or it doesn’t. In aimless people it is completely absent, while in their opposites it is too developed. Hence the next question: “Why do some have goals and others do not?” There is no single answer here. Some are inclined to genetics, errors of upbringing, while others blame the state of our society, believing that it, with its excessive, sometimes impossible, demands initially suppresses and kills in the bud any ambitious intentions of a person. However, people who are subject to such influence are rather weak, weak-willed, fearful and do not like to go out. If you do not pay attention to obstacles, then cherished goals in a person’s life are quite possible and achievable. There are examples of this both among world celebrities and ordinary people.

The essence of this idea is simple - create a list of goals, desires, ideas and the craziest dreams that you would like to fulfill and experiences that you would be interested in experiencing during the time allotted on Earth.

Why do you need a list

Think about the last few years of your life. A good friend of mine once correctly noted that we identify ourselves with our place of work and increasingly say WE- “we bought a quarry in South America”, “we bought 5 helicopters and 10 Mercedes”, “we increased revenue by 100 million dollars” and so on. But when you go deeper, you realize that no one traveled further than Ukraine, I only saw a helicopter in the air, and the maximum amount of money that I held in my hands was 1000 salary dollars.

It's time to understand what "I" is who wants to jump with a parachute, travel around the globe and do a dozen different stupid things that are embarrassing to tell children about. Remember yourself tired but happy when you accomplished something important. You relive the highlights of your life hundreds of hundreds of times in your head. Now imagine that you have a LIST of 100 items and you have promised yourself to implement about 3-5 items from this list every year. Just think how much happier you will become, how much new you will learn, how the psychological situation in the family will change. It will be just cool!

What to do in life

Everything is extremely simple and takes no more than 10-15 minutes per brainstorming session. Personally, I created a document on my computer desktop in which I write down my dreams and desires at certain intervals. I'm trying to understand what I want and how much this or that activity will make me happier.

To make the task of creating your list easier, I recommend answering the following questions:

  • What would happen if you passed away tomorrow? What is the most important thing you would like to do today?
  • What would you do if you had unlimited time, money and resources?
  • What countries and places would you like to visit?
  • What feelings would you like to experience?
  • What moments would you like to witness?
  • What is the most important thing on your personal scale of values ​​that you would like to achieve?
  • What craft would you like to learn?
  • Who would you like to meet in person?
  • What would you like to achieve in different areas of your life (social, family, physical, spiritual)?
