Ishtvar: Brothers' War is a browser-based game that combines movement across the map from Heroes and text battles. Another fantasy world, another two-sided antagonism, another simulator of battles of chance rather than skill. As you might guess, once upon a time, two acrobat brothers did not share power; thousands of years have passed since then, but the war has not subsided to this day.

Navigating around the map in Ishtvar is more of a formality, since the landscape design is nothing special. There are boundaries between locations, there are some standard objects for a fantasy world, there are dungeons... in general, all this could just as easily be written in text. On the other hand, it creates at least the illusion of action in a world in which 90% of the screen is occupied by images of weapons and text.

You move around the map not alone, but with armies - therefore, the battles are not one-on-one, but wall-to-wall. Accordingly, the book of spells (where would we be without them) is divided into two sections - non-combat and combat. The crossing of “heroes” and a standard text browser can’t help but be called an interesting idea (the figures of your soldiers and enemy soldiers even move in the combat interface; however, only one at a time). In addition to these two elements, there is also crafting, an alien from full-fledged RPGs. The newcomer is not persecuted, it must be admitted; There are enough items and materials in Ishtvar, so there will always be something to craft and re-craft.

Ishtvar does not offer interesting art or even pleasant music. If the second is quite understandable: players love browser games for the opportunity to play to their own rock and roll, then the first is unforgivable. At least something in the game should attract and hold the player’s attention so that he chooses it, the one and only. However, Ishtvar is not such a game; it's just "one of".

No one can say for sure whether the Brothers created Ishtvar, or whether they once came here. But their undivided power goes back to the dark ages, when people did not even know the ominous meaning of the Lot.
But now the die has been cast, and the Brothers' ax has split our world in half. People who revered them as Gods became victims of a thousand-year dispute. A dispute involving blood and suffering...
The meaning of the Lot is simple. If Light reigns over Ishtvar, then one of the Brothers, Zlot, leaves this world. If Darkness reigns, then the second one will leave - Debord. They are no longer destined to live together, in peace and harmony. So it is written in the Books of their Fates.
The ax plunged into the very heart of Ishtvar. And now brother went against brother, and son against father. Rivers of blood flowed through the streets of Ishtvar cities. The tears of mothers and wives flooded the shores of the once flourishing region. Sorrow and desolation have settled in our homes. And instead of bread, our fields are sown with food for crows.
You, too, will not escape this Lot. The fire of war will burn your soul too, to make room for either true Light, or for true Darkness.
But perhaps you will become the weight whose fall on the scales of the universe will upset the current balance. Then one of the Brothers will leave, and peace will reign in Ishtvar again.

The game is written in PHP 5 using Java daemons and a MySQL database (I used eAcselerator before, but I disabled this function so that it would work everywhere)

Installation:
The game is already installed (specially made for noobs)

Starting the game:
1) Download the archive, unpack it, and move the ishtwar folder to the root of drive C (so that the path is C:\ishtwar)
2) Download and install JDK 1.7.0_09 (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index-jsp-138363.html)
3) In environment variables:

Add a variable:
CLASSPATH = C:\ishtwar\server\mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar
In the Path variable, add at the end the path to the bin directory of the installed JDK (for example, my path is C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_09\bin)
4) Go to the folder C:\ishtwar
5) Run xampp_start.exe (this will start apache, mysql, php)
6) Run the file start_javaserver.bat (this will launch the Java daemon of the game) and do not close the window, because the demon will turn off.
