Story
The village was founded in 1851 as the village of Zakanyurtovskaya (later Romanovskaya) during the formation of the Sunzhenskaya Cossack line. By order No. 01721 in 1920, the entire Cossack population of the village was evicted: men aged 18 to 50 were sent to concentration camps outside the Caucasus, the rest of the population was evicted beyond the Terek. The village was handed over to the Chechens.

History of the village of Zakan-Yurt
The village of Zakan-Yurt, Achkhoy-Martanovsky district, Chechen Republic, is located on the left bank of the river. Sunzha on the southern slope of the Sunzha ridge, at the confluence of the Assy River into the Sunzha. At the bridge at the entrance to the village, having accepted the waters of the cold and almost always muddy Assa, Sunzha then carries life-giving moisture to the capital of the republic.
According to some reports, s. Zakan-Yurt has existed since ancient times. This is confirmed by the fact that in the village. According to information from an old resident of the village, Zakan-Yurt, Umarov Khusein Muskhadzhievich, the first Chairman of the Zakan-Yurt village council was a resident of Khamby-Irze, Elmurzaev Akhmed. They say he was illiterate, and therefore used a ring instead of a signature. According to Khusein Muskhadzhievich, the village of Zakan-Yurt was part of the Urus-Martan district.
