The ships of the project are designed to search, detect and track enemy submarines, provide anti-ship and anti-submarine defense of warships and vessels at sea, strike ships and vessels at sea and bases, support combat operations of ground forces, ensure amphibious landings and solve others tasks.

In total, two ships of this project out of three laid down on the slipway were completed and entered into service with the Russian Navy. Both ships are part of the Baltic Fleet as of 2018. The third ship was planned to be completed according to a modified design, but in 2015 its completion was abandoned; the unfinished hull will be disposed of.

Story

Design

Hull and superstructure

The patrol boats of the project are single-tube, two-masted ships with a developed superstructure, occupying more than half the length of the upper deck. The architectural and layout solutions implemented in the ships ensure a reduction in the levels of thermal, acoustic, electromagnetic and secondary radar fields.

Anti-ship

To destroy surface ships and ships on patrol ships, it is planned to place the Uran anti-ship missile system in the central part of the hull, consisting of two four-container launchers located perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ship with an elevation angle of 35°. The total ammunition capacity is eight Kh-35 anti-ship missiles.

Despite the fact that the Uran anti-ship missile system has been repeatedly mentioned in the media as part of the Neustrashimy’s armament, since the complex was put into service in 2003, it was never installed on the ship, which entered service in 1993 (1990). Thus, throughout its existence, the Neustrashimy TFR has not been equipped with basic anti-ship weapons.

Anti-aircraft

Communications equipment includes the R-782 Buran automated communications complex, and the Yaroslav the Wise is additionally equipped with the R-768 Centaur satellite communications complex.

Seaworthiness and habitability

The ships of the project are equipped with pitch stabilizers, as well as bilge keels, which help improve seaworthiness.

The second ship, “Unapproachable” (later renamed “Yaroslav the Wise”), was laid down there on May 27, 1988 and launched in June 1990. On June 19 (July) 2009 it became part of the Russian Navy and on July 24, 2009 the Naval flag of the Russian Federation was raised over the ship.

After the laying of the “Unapproachable”, construction of the third ship, “Fog”, also began on the “Yantar”, but was later stopped. Based on the unfinished "Fog", it was planned to create an anti-submarine ship to combat non-nuclear submarines. The start of construction was scheduled for 2014. As the head of the shipbuilding department of the Russian Navy, Captain 1st Rank Vladimir Tryapichnikov, told reporters in September 2015: “The command of the Russian Navy will not order the completion of the Project 11540 “Fog” TFR. Despite the fact that the ship's hull is already long time are on the water, there is no demand for it. It is not only outdated, but also does not fit into modern tactics and development strategy Navy» .

Service

Since joining the Navy, the ships of the project have repeatedly participated in various exercises, including joint ones with NATO;

Accompanied official visits of Russian President V.V. Putin to London and Lisbon, ensuring security on the Russian side;

They made friendly visits to the ports of France, Spain, Belgium and other countries;

During their service, the crews of the ships of the project were repeatedly awarded with various prizes in competitions of the Baltic Fleet and the Russian Navy.

In September 2006, the Neustrashimy TFR took part in the event for the reburial of Empress Maria Feodorovna (the guard met and accompanied the Danish Navy ship Esbern Snare with the ashes of the Empress).

In July 2010, it was reported that the ships of the project in 2011, after agreeing on this issue with Ukraine, would be redeployed to the Black Sea Fleet and would be oriented by the Black Sea Fleet command to maintain the operational regime in the fleet’s area of responsibility - the Black and Mediterranean Seas. However, the passage did not take place, although both patrol ships often appear in the Mediterranean Sea and the Horn of Africa.

From December 7, 2011 to February 10, 2012, he participated in a joint campaign of the inter-naval united group in the Mediterranean Sea, led by the Admiral Kuznetsov TAVKR.

* – the USA, Italy, and Canada presented in Table No. 3 are not present in Table No. 4, since military shipbuilding plans do not yet provide for the construction of new frigates in these countries. A new type of frigates are being built in Japan, traditionally classified as destroyers, practically no different from ships of the Hatsuyuki-Asagiri type (except that the missiles and missiles are located in the VLS)

Concluding the consideration of anti-aircraft potentials, you should pay attention to the particularly worthwhile collective (zonal) defense air defense system “Tartor D/Standard MR” on the American frigate. As a rule, foreign frigates of other types of air defense systems of this class are not installed, although some single serial frigates - for example, the Dutch Jacob van Heemskerk type or the French Cassard type - were built in an air defense version with the mentioned American air defense system. The experience of the Falklands conflict showed the insufficient effectiveness of collective defense air defense systems and, conversely, higher than expected combat capabilities of self-defense air defense systems: the vast majority of Argentinean aircraft shot down by anti-aircraft missiles were not the long-range (75 km) Sea Dart air defense systems, but self-defense air defense systems “Seawolf”, and the latter also quite successfully solved the problems of collective defense, that is, it covered not only its own ship, but also its neighbors. For this reason, we believe that the placement of long-range air defense systems on frigates naturally entails a “clamping” of other elements (on the Jacob van Heemskerk, for example, because of this it was necessary to abandon the main artillery weapons, and on the Cassard it was necessary to sacrifice one of the helicopters) is probably not justified. Although such examples also demonstrate that frigates are, in principle, suitable for armament with complexes created for ships of larger classes.

The views that determined the artillery armament of the Yastreb SKR were discussed above. Here it should only be added that a new single-gun 130-mm gun can be easily installed on it (and this is provided for) (after it has been put into service) without reworking the ship’s design. In this case, in terms of artillery armament, the Yastreb, which today is at the level or higher than that of most foreign analogues, will certainly surpass them in all respects: range, rate of fire, ammunition power, etc.

A comparison of anti-submarine weapons also illustrates the noticeable advantage of our ship even in the torpedo version of loading its universal missile-torpedo launchers (URTPU). Domestic 533-mm torpedoes - undoubtedly more powerful than the widely used 324-mm foreign ones (Mk.44, Mk.46, Mk.50) - are superior to both the 550-mm French and 533-mm Italian ones in range and depth of destruction and in terms of speed. An important circumstance is that the URTPU can be used not only for anti-submarine, but also for anti-ship torpedoes. Only French and Italian frigates have these capabilities, but their anti-ship torpedoes are also inferior to domestic ones. But none of the foreign analogues are equipped with nuclear equipment for torpedo warheads. The unique possibility of using nuclear weapons puts the Hawk in an exceptional position and once again confirms the thesis about its suitability for any model of war - including nuclear, the possibility of which (not to be confused with the concept of "probability"), alas, remains, and no one can cancel it she can't yet.

In the missile-torpedo version of loading the URTPU with Vodopad-NK anti-submarine missiles, our SKR certainly becomes even more powerful. None of the foreign ships, except the Japanese Hatsuyuki, have weapons of this class. The American ASROC complex installed on the “Japanese” is only several times inferior to the “Waterfall” in range, not to mention the comparison of the performance characteristics of torpedoes used in combat units: they are incomparably higher for our 400-mm torpedo than for the 324-mm American torpedo. Japanese. The impressiveness of the anti-submarine weapons of the Yastreb SKR is enhanced by the presence of the RBU, which is absent on other compared ships, and solves the problems of ship defense in dead zones and active protection against torpedoes.

The aircraft armament of our ship - the Ka-27 or Ka-29 helicopter - in its flight-tactical characteristics (flight-tactical characteristics) and on-board weapons is comparable only to the American SH-60 "Sea Hawk", since the Lynx or AB- 212 are in a different class and comparing them with heavy helicopters is not correct. Therefore, surpassing all foreign analogues in aviation armament, the Hawk is second only to the American frigate Oliver H. Perry - if only because the American has two of them against ours. However, our helicopter is seriously superior to the licensed American Sea King, based on Canadian and Japanese ships.

The above qualitative – heuristic, at first glance – comparison is based on quantitative calculations repeatedly performed by our specialists. Behind the concepts of “worse” and “better” there are specific digital data based on appropriate models and methods. It is curious that in the galaxy of presented analogues, in our opinion, the American frigate Oliver H. Perry looks the most “pale”. It is surprising that the Americans managed to “foist” this project on the gullible Australians and Spaniards. To be fair, it should be noted that the navies of these countries have already ordered new generation frigates from Germany. MEKO-class frigates apparently have the highest ratings abroad, although the Germans do not build them for their Navy.

We compared the Russian TFR Project 11540 with foreign analogues - “the same age” (it doesn’t matter that the years of their construction for various reasons did not coincide). Let us now once again briefly compare the elements of the Hawk with the elements of the newest frigates of foreign navies, the design of which began much later than the creation of our ship.

Analysis of the last table shows that the new generation frigates are not significantly different from their predecessors in qualitative terms. There is a noticeable tendency to contain or reduce displacement. The standard type of power plant is a diesel-gas turbine unit, which in some cases makes it possible to increase the cruising range. Of particular interest is the diesel-gas-turboelectric power plant of the English frigate “type 23”, which can dramatically improve this element. The number of crews is slightly reduced.

Weapons (not weapons, but weapons) hardly change. There is only an increase in the main caliber of guns and an almost massive transition to fixed launchers for vertical launch missiles, which was carried out in our fleet almost 20 years ago.

Along with this, of course, there are changes in architecture, especially related to STEALTH technology (the most typical examples are “Norfolk” and “La Fayette”). Surface structural protection is being increasingly introduced, mainly using armored plastics such as Kevlar. Electronic weapons are being improved, especially hydroacoustic ones: infrasonic noise-direction-finding sonars with flexible towed extended antennas (cable type) have become widespread on ships. It should be noted that on the TFR Project 11540 it was planned to deploy a similar GAS of the Centaur SK type, but the development of the latter was stalled by the collapse of the military-industrial complex that began during the “acceleration” period, and the ship had to be equipped with a conventional towed station, part of the Zvezda-M1 complex.

Against this background, the Yastreb anti-ship missile system retains almost all its advantages and advantages even without the rearmament indicated in the table (Onyx anti-ship missile system, 130-mm artillery gun). Perhaps the only “annoying” element is the cruising range - in modern comparison already significantly smaller. Here we cannot help but recall the requirements of the specialists of the Central Research Institute of VK, who were able to look 20 years ahead.

We don’t know how successful this was, but we tried to prove to the reader that main character of this story - a Hawk-class patrol ship project 11540, - created by the labor and efforts of domestic scientists, designers, engineers, workers, and military sailors, has every reason to become not an ordinary ship of the Russian fleet of the 21st century. At least that's what we believe.

From the editors of "Courage". Since the article was written back in 1996, I would like to supplement it with the following information. The construction of patrol ships, Project 11540, was organized at the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad. Three buildings were laid down: in March 1987 "Undaunted" , in May 1988 - “Unapproachable” and in March 1990 - “Fog” . By that time, the “parade of sovereignties” had already begun, and in 1991 the collapse of the USSR occurred, established ties in the defense industry were disrupted, economic crisis. The first ship was nevertheless transferred to the fleet in 1993. But the construction of the other two had to be suspended when technical readiness was 78% and 28%, respectively. The hulls of the ships were mothballed and laid up against the factory wall. Despite attempts to complete the construction of one of the ships under the export project 11541 “Corsair”, potential customers did not show interest in it, and therefore the matter was limited to only the project and some progress in the construction. Only after several years, in 2003, it was decided to complete the construction of the second building according to the adjusted technical design for Russian fleet. However, due to low level funding, the ship, which received a new name - “Yaroslav the Wise”, was put into operation only in May 2009. The order for the third hull was apparently cancelled.

The patrol ship "Yaroslav the Mudry", due to adjustments to the project, differs from the lead project 11540 in the presence of some systems. First of all, it received the Uran anti-ship complex (this anti-ship missile system was never installed on Neustrashimy) controlled by the Dubrava radar, more advanced communications, and the GLONASS space navigation system. A number of measures were carried out on it aimed at further reducing the levels of underwater noise, secondary radar, thermal and electromagnetic fields, and the gas exhaust system was improved. The control radar of the Kortik complex was installed on a higher pedestal to improve the viewing sector.

Project 11540 SKR is a multi-purpose ship that provides air defense for the operational formation of ships from enemy ships and submarines. A patrol ship of this class was designed and built at the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad. The first in the series was the Neustrashimy SKR, which was launched in 1993. Two others were laid down - "Yaroslav the Wise" (in some reports it bears the name "Unapproachable") was laid down in 1991 and "Tuman" was laid down in the summer of 1993. This ship is a further development of the well-proven Project 1135 patrol ships, 24 of which were built during the period from 1969 to 1993. Project 11540 SKR is the first Russian universal security ship built using low-reflective materials.

The ship is armed with the Vodopad-NK missile-torpedo system, which fires both anti-submarine missiles and torpedoes. Ammunition - 6 anti-submarine missiles or torpedoes with a firing range of up to 120 km. Two three-tube horizontal launchers are installed on each side towards the bow of the ship and at a fixed elevation angle of about 20°.

The Uran anti-ship missile complex includes two eight-container launchers with 16 K-35 anti-ship missiles and an automated control system. The K-35 missile is equipped with an inertial control system, which provides control of the missile in flight, and an active radar guidance head, which provides detection, guidance and destruction of the target. The missile guidance system is highly survivable against enemy electronic countermeasures. To successfully overcome the enemy's missile defense system, the missile has a small reflective surface and a low flight trajectory. In the initial phase, the flight altitude is 10-15 m above sea level, but in the phase of approaching the target, the missile at a speed of 280-300 meters per second decreases to a height of 3-5 m above sea level. Minimum and maximum flight ranges from 5 to 130 km. Flight weight - 603 kg.

The Klinok air defense system protects the ship from anti-ship missiles, unmanned and manned. aircraft, enemy ships, as well as shore-based weapons. Four vertical launch modules are installed in the bow of the ship behind the ship's 100 mm gun. The complex consists of automated system fire control and an under-deck launcher with four drums, each with eight 9M330 missiles (32 missiles). The missile is a naval version of the SA-15 missile.

To obtain data for firing, the complex includes a detection radar and an interface with the ship's combat control system. The radar uses a phased array antenna with electronic control. Range - from 12 to 15 km and target height - from 10 to 6000 meters. The missile is equipped with a 15 kg warhead, can hit 4 targets simultaneously at a speed of up to 700 meters per second and a rate of fire of 3 missiles per second.

The Kashtan air defense missile and artillery system was developed by the Tula Design Bureau. The system provides defense against precision-guided weapons, including anti-ship, anti-radar missiles, aerial bombs, aircraft and small sea vessels. The system has a modular design. One command module and two modules - a combined missile and artillery installation with ammunition of 64 missiles and 600 rounds, located on each side of the satellite communications dome. The command module provides fully autonomous target detection, target data output and target distribution to launchers. A combined missile and artillery installation automatically receives target designation, tracks the target, calculates target parameters and uses weapons. Surface-to-air missiles are launched from a container (launcher); the artillery mount is a twin 30 mm anti-aircraft gun. The system provides radar and laser (for missiles) target tracking modes. The firing range is from 1.5 to 8 km and the artillery mount is 0.5-1.5 km for altitudes from 5 to 4000 meters. Target speed up to 600 m/s. The rate of fire of the artillery installation is up to 1000 rounds per minute.

The RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launcher is part of the Smerch-2 anti-submarine defense system. The fixed RBU-6000 launcher is installed on the upper deck behind the four launcher covers of the "Blade" complex. A launcher made of twelve radially placed tubes, the firing data comes from the Burya fire control system. An ammunition supply of 96 missiles is located under the launcher. The missiles are loaded automatically through an elevator. When the last tube is loaded, the launcher automatically switches to firing mode. After using all the missiles, the launcher automatically returns to the loading position. The maximum firing range is 6000 meters and the maximum target depth is 500 meters. The weight of the rocket is 110 kg and the weight of the warhead is 25 kg.

The AK-100 system with 350 rounds of ammunition is installed in the bow of the ship and is designed to destroy air, sea and coastal targets, including anti-ship missiles. The AK-100-MP-145 artillery mount was developed by the Amethyst Design Bureau in Moscow, the Arsenal Design Bureau and the Industrial Association in St. Petersburg. The system also includes a computer complex with a radar and television detection and tracking channel. The artillery mount is equipped with a Condenser optical sight. Fire control can be automatic - from the fire control complex, semi-automatic - from optical sight"Condenser" and in manual mode, and the supply of ammunition in manual mode is provided through elevators and automatic feed mechanisms. The artillery mount is served by a team of 5 or 6 people. Rate of fire 30 - 50 rounds per minute, range 20 kilometers.

The ship is equipped with eight ten-tube PK-10 launchers to provide protection against weapons with thermal seekers. Fires 120mm thermal interference projectiles. Shell detonation can be done automatically or individually in manual mode. The ship is also equipped with two 16-tube PK-16 installations for jamming weapons with radar and optical homing systems. Fires 82 mm caliber shells single-handedly in manual mode. In automatic mode, it can fire singly at intervals from 20 to 100 seconds. Firing range from 200 to 1800 meters.

The helipad occupies the entire width of the aft part of the ship. The hangar houses the Ka-27 deck helicopter. The Ka-27 combat helicopter, one of the Kamov family of anti-submarine helicopters, according to NATO classification - “Helix”. The helicopter can operate in bad weather conditions and sea conditions up to 5 points and at distances of up to 200 km from the ship. The helicopter is equipped with a radar for detecting and tracking surface targets, a sonar system for detecting and tracking underwater targets, and a system for placing acoustic buoys. Weapon systems include anti-submarine torpedoes, anti-submarine missiles, depth charges and bottom mines.

The system also includes a computer complex with a radar and television detection and tracking channel. The artillery mount is equipped with a Condenser optical sight. Firing control can be automatic - from the fire control complex, semi-automatic - from the Condenser optical sight, and manually, with manual supply of ammunition provided through elevators and automatic feed mechanisms. The artillery mount is served by a team of 5 or 6 people. Rate of fire 30 - 50 rounds per minute, range 20 kilometers.

The ship is equipped with eight ten-tube PK-10 launchers to provide protection against thermally homing weapons.

The Ka-27 combat helicopter is one of the Kamov family of anti-submarine helicopters, according to NATO classification - "Helix".

Project 11540 patrol ships ("Hawk" code , according to NATO codification – Neustrashimyy) - a type of patrol ships (according to the Western classification - frigates) of the Russian fleet.

Both ships are part of the Baltic Fleet as of 2012. The third ship was planned to be completed according to a modified design, but in 2015 its completion was abandoned; the unfinished hull will be disposed of.

Story

Design

The Project 11540 patrol ships (code "Yastreb") in the final version were supposed to replace the Project 1135 patrol ships.

Construction

The lead ship of the project began construction in May 1986 at the Yantar Baltic Shipyard, and was officially laid down on March 25, 1987. It was launched on May 25, 1988. It entered service on December 28, 1990 and on March 14, 1991 became part of the Twice Red Banner Baltic Fleet, and on January 24, 1993 the flag of the Russian Navy was raised over the ship. Since February 2, 1993, the ship has been part of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy. At 1988 prices, Neustrashimy cost the USSR budget 80 million rubles.

Based on the unfinished "Tuman", it is planned to create an anti-submarine ship to combat non-nuclear submarines. The start of completion is scheduled for 2014.

As the head of the shipbuilding department of the Russian Navy, Captain 1st Rank Vladimir Tryapichnikov, told reporters in September 2015: “The command of the Russian Navy will not order the completion of the Project 11540 Tuman TFR.” Despite the fact that the ship's hull has been on the water for a long time, there is no demand for it. It is not only outdated, but also does not fit into modern tactics and strategy for the development of the Navy."

Service

Since joining the Navy, the ships of the project have repeatedly participated in various exercises, including joint ones with NATO;

Accompanied official visits of Russian President V.V. Putin to London and Lisbon, ensuring security on the Russian side;

They made friendly visits to the ports of France, Spain, Belgium and other countries;

During their service, the crews of the ships of the project were repeatedly awarded with various prizes in competitions of the Baltic Fleet and the Russian Navy.

Anti-submarine

The autonomy of the ships in terms of provisions is estimated at 30 days.

An excerpt characterizing Project 11540 patrol ships

Above the emerald green, very “juicy” earth, illuminating everything around with an unusual bluish light, a stunningly beautiful and bright, violet-blue sun rose merrily... It was an alien, apparently alien, morning... All the greenery growing wildly here, from of the sun's rays falling on her, sparkled with golden-violet diamonds of the “local” morning dew, and, happily washing herself with them, prepared for the coming new wonderful day... Everything around was fragrant with incredibly rich colors, too bright for ours, accustomed to everything “earthly” , eye. In the distance, almost “dense”, soft pink curly clouds, like beautiful pink pillows, swirled across the sky covered with a golden haze. Unexpectedly, with opposite side the sky flashed brightly golden... I turned around and froze in surprise - on the other side, an incredibly huge, golden-pink, second sun was rising royally!.. It was much larger than the first, and it seemed to be larger than the planet itself... But its rays, unlike the first one, for some reason shone incomparably softer and more affectionately, reminiscent of a warm “fluffy” hug... It seemed that this huge kind luminary was already tired of everyday worries, but still out of habit gave its energy to this incredibly beautiful planet the last warmth and, already “getting ready to retire,” gladly gave way to the young, “biting” sun, which was just beginning its heavenly journey and was shining brightly and cheerfully, not afraid to splash its young heat, generously flooding everything around with light.
Looking around in surprise, I suddenly noticed a bizarre phenomenon - the plants had a second shadow... And for some reason it contrasted very sharply with the illuminated part - as if the chiaroscuro had been painted with bright, flashy colors, sharply opposite each other to a friend. In the shadow part, the air shimmered with bright miniature stars, flashing at the slightest movement. It was crazy beautiful... and incredibly interesting. The awakened magical world sounded with thousands of unfamiliar voices, as if joyfully announcing its happy awakening to the entire universe. I very strongly, almost in reality, felt how incredibly clean the air was here! It was fragrant, filled with surprisingly pleasant, unfamiliar smells, which were somehow subtly reminiscent of the smells of roses, if there were a thousand different varieties of them here at the same time. Everywhere, as far as the eye could see, the same bright red, huge “poppies” were red... And only then did I remember that Veya had brought me the same flower! I extended my hand to her - the flower smoothly flowed from her fragile palm onto my palm, and suddenly, something strongly “clicked” in my chest... I was surprised to see how an amazing crystal... It pulsated and changed all the time, as if showing what else it could be. I froze in shock, completely hypnotized by the spectacle that opened, and could not take my eyes off the ever-new beauty that was opening up...
“Well,” Veya said contentedly, “now you can watch it whenever you want!”
– Why is this crystal on my chest if you put it on my forehead? – I finally decided to ask the question that had been tormenting me for several days.
The girl was very surprised, and after thinking a little, she answered:
“I don’t know why you’re asking, you know the answer.” But, if you want to hear it from me, please: I just gave it to you through your brain, but you need to open it where its real place should be.
- How was I supposed to know? – I was surprised.
Violet eyes studied me very carefully for several seconds, and then an unexpected answer came:
– I thought so – you’re still sleeping... But I can’t wake you up – others will wake you up. And it won't be now.
- And when? And who will these others be?..
– Your friends... But you don’t know them now.
- How will I know that they are friends, and that it is they? – I asked, puzzled.
“You’ll remember,” Veya smiled.
- Will I remember?! How can I remember something that doesn’t exist yet?..” I stared at her, dumbfounded.
- It exists, just not here.
She had a very warm smile that made her incredibly beautiful. It seemed as if the May sun had peeked out from behind a cloud and illuminated everything around.
– Are you all alone here on Earth? – I couldn’t believe it.
- Of course not. There are many of us, just different. And we've been living here for a very long time, if that's what you wanted to ask.
-What are you doing here? And why did you come here? – I couldn’t stop.
– We help when needed. I don’t remember where they came from, I wasn’t there. I was just watching how you are now... This is my home.
The girl suddenly became very sad. And I wanted to help her somehow, but, to my great regret, it was not yet in my little power...
– You really want to go home, don’t you? – I asked carefully.
Veya nodded. Suddenly her fragile figure flashed brightly... and I was left alone - the “star” girl disappeared. It was very, very dishonest!.. She couldn’t just up and leave!!! This should never have happened!.. The real resentment of a child, whose most favorite toy was suddenly taken away, was raging within me... But Veya was not a toy, and, to be honest, I should have been grateful to her for the fact that she actually came to me. But in my “suffering” soul at that moment a real “emotional storm” was destroying the remaining grains of logic, and complete confusion reigned in my head... Therefore, there was no talk of any “logical” thinking at the moment, and I, “dead” grief” of her terrible loss, completely “plunged” into the ocean of “black despair”, thinking that my “star” guest would never return to me again... I wanted to ask her so much more! And she suddenly took it and disappeared... And then suddenly I felt very ashamed... If everyone asked her as much as I wanted to ask, she wouldn’t have time to live!.. This thought somehow immediately calmed me down. I should have simply accepted with gratitude all the wonderful things that she managed to show me (even if I didn’t understand everything yet), and not grumble at fate for the insufficiency of the desired “ready”, instead of just moving my lazy “convolutions” and find the answers to the questions that tormented me. I remembered Stella’s grandmother and thought that she was absolutely right when she spoke about the dangers of receiving something for nothing, because nothing could be worse than a person who is used to only taking things all the time. Moreover, no matter how much he takes, he will never receive the joy of having achieved something himself, and will never experience the unique feeling of satisfaction of having created something himself.
I sat alone for a long time, slowly “chewing” the food for thought given to me, thinking gratefully about the amazing purple-eyed “star” girl. And she smiled, knowing that now I would definitely never stop until I found out who these friends are that I don’t know, and what kind of dream they should wake me up from... Then I couldn’t even imagine, that, no matter how hard I try, and no matter how hard I try, this will happen only after many, many years, and my “friends” will really wake me up... Only this will not be at all what I could ever imagine even guess...
But then everything seemed childishly possible to me, and with all my undying ardor and “iron” perseverance I decided to try...
No matter how much I wanted to listen to the reasonable voice of logic, my naughty brain believed that, despite the fact that Veya apparently knew exactly what she was talking about, I would still achieve my goal and find those people earlier than I was promised (or creatures) who were supposed to help me get rid of some incomprehensible “bear hibernation” of mine. At first, I decided to try again to go beyond the Earth, and see who would come to me there... Naturally, it was impossible to think of anything more stupid, but since I stubbornly believed that I would achieve something after all, I had to go headlong again plunge into new, perhaps even very dangerous “experiments”...
For some reason, my good Stella almost stopped “walking” at that time, and, for some unknown reason, she was “moping” in her colorful world, not wanting to tell me the real reason for her sadness. But I somehow managed to persuade her to go for a “walk” with me this time, getting her interested in the danger of the adventure I was planning, and also by the fact that I was still a little afraid to try such “far-reaching” experiments alone.
I warned my grandmother that I was going to try something “very serious”, to which she just calmly nodded her head and wished her good luck (!)... Of course, this outraged me “to the bones”, but having decided not to show her my resentment, and pouting like a Christmas turkey, I swore to myself that, no matter what it cost me, something would happen today!... And of course, it happened... just not exactly what I expected.
Stella was already waiting for me, ready for “the most terrible feats,” and we, together and collected, rushed “beyond the limit”...
This time it turned out much easier for me, maybe because it was not the first time, and maybe also because the same violet crystal was “discovered”... I was carried like a bullet beyond the mental level of the Earth, and It was then that I realized that I had overdone it a little... Stella, according to the general agreement, was waiting at the “borderline” to insure me if she saw that something had gone wrong... But it had already gone “wrong” from the very beginning, and where I was at the moment, she, to my great regret, could no longer reach me.
All around me in the cold of the night was the black, ominous space that I had dreamed of for so many years, and which now frightened me with its wild, unique silence... I was completely alone, without the reliable protection of my “star friends”, and without the warm support of my faithful friend Stella ... And, despite the fact that I saw all this not for the first time, I suddenly felt very small and alone in this unfamiliar world of distant stars surrounding me, which here looked not at all as friendly and familiar as from the Earth, and a petty panic, cowardly squeaking from undisguised horror, gradually began to treacherously engulf me... But since I was still a very, very stubborn little person, I decided that there was no point in getting limp, and began to look around, where was it all- I got carried away...
I was hanging in a black, almost physically tangible void, and only occasionally some “shooting stars” flashed around me, leaving dazzling tails for a moment. And right there, seemingly very close, such a dear and familiar Earth shimmered with a blue radiance. But, to my great regret, she only seemed close, but in fact she was very, very far away... And suddenly I wildly wanted to go back!!!.. I no longer wanted to “heroically overcome” unfamiliar obstacles, but I just really wanted to to return home, where everything was so dear and familiar (to grandma’s warm pies and favorite books!), and not to hang frozen in some kind of black, cold “peacelessness”, not knowing how to get out of all this, and, moreover, preferably without any -or “terrifying and irreparable” consequences... I tried to imagine the only thing that came to mind first - the purple-eyed girl Wei. For some reason it didn’t work - she didn’t appear. Then I tried to unfold her crystal... And then, everything around sparkled, shone and swirled in a frenzied whirlpool of some unprecedented matters, I felt as if I was suddenly, like a big vacuum cleaner, being pulled somewhere, and immediately “unfolded” in front of me "in all its glory, the already familiar, mysterious and beautiful Weiyin world.... As I realized too late - the key to which was my open purple crystal...
I didn't know how far away this unfamiliar world was... Was it real this time? And I absolutely didn’t know how to get home from it... And there was no one around whom I could ask anything...
A marvelous emerald valley stretched out in front of me, filled with a very bright, golden-violet light. Golden clouds slowly floated across the alien pinkish sky, sparkling and sparkling, almost covering one of the suns. In the distance one could see very tall, spiky, alien mountains shining with heavy gold... And right at my feet, almost earthly, a small, cheerful stream was babbling, only the water in it was not at all earthly - “thick” and purple, and not a little opaque... I carefully dipped my hand in - the feeling was amazing and very unexpected - as if I had touched a soft teddy bear... Warm and pleasant, but certainly not “fresh and wet”, as we are used to feeling on Earth. I even doubted whether this was what was called “water” on Earth?..
Then the “plush” stream ran straight into a green tunnel, which was formed by intertwining “fluffy” and transparent, silver-green “vines”, hanging in thousands over the purple “water”. They “knitted” a bizarre pattern over it, which was decorated with tiny “stars” of white, strong-smelling, unprecedented flowers.
Yes, this world was extraordinarily beautiful... But at that moment I would have given a lot to be in my own, maybe not so beautiful, but for that reason so familiar and dear, earthly world!.. For the first time I was so scared, and I was not afraid to admit it honestly to myself... I was completely alone, and there was no one to give friendly advice on what to do next. Therefore, having no other choice, and somehow gathering all my “trembling” will into a fist, I decided to move somewhere further, so as not to stand still and not wait for something terrible to happen (albeit in such beautiful world!) will happen.
- How did you get here? – I heard a gentle voice in my fear-tormented brain.
I turned around sharply... and again ran into beautiful violet eyes - Veya stood behind me...
“Oh, is it really you?!!..” I almost screamed from unexpected happiness.
“I saw that you unwrapped the crystal, I came to help,” the girl answered completely calmly.
Only her big eyes again peered very carefully into my frightened face, and a deep, “adult” understanding glowed in them.
“You have to believe me,” the “star” girl whispered quietly.
And I really wanted to tell her that, of course, I believe! the world around us... But Veya apparently understood everything perfectly, and, smiling with her amazing smile, she said affably:
– Do you want me to show you my world, since you’re already here?..
I just nodded my head joyfully, having completely perked up again and ready for any “exploits”, just because I was no longer alone, and this was enough for all the bad things to be instantly forgotten and the world to seem exciting and beautiful again.
– But you said that you’ve never been here? – I asked, having gained courage.
“And I’m not here now,” the girl answered calmly. “My essence is with you, but my body has never lived there.” I never knew my real home... - her huge eyes were filled with deep, not at all childish sadness.
“Can I ask you how old are you?.. Of course, if you don’t want to, don’t answer,” I asked, a little embarrassed.
“According to earthly calculations, it will probably be about two million years,” the “baby” answered thoughtfully.
For some reason, because of this answer, my legs suddenly became completely weak... This simply could not happen!.. No creature is able to live for so long! Or, depending on what kind of creature?..
– Why then do you look so small?! Only our children are like this... But you know that, of course.
- This is how I remember myself. And I feel that this is right. So that's how it should be. We live for a very long time. I'm probably the little one...
All this news made me dizzy... But Veya, as usual, was surprisingly calm, and this gave me the strength to ask further.
– And who do you call an adult?.. If there are such people, of course.
- Well, of course! – the girl laughed sincerely. - Do you want to see?
I just nodded, because suddenly, out of fright, my throat completely closed up, and my “fluttering” conversational gift was lost somewhere... I understood perfectly well that right now I would see a real “star” creature!.. And, despite the fact that, as long as I could remember, I had been waiting for this all my adult life, now suddenly all my courage for some reason quickly “gone to the ground”...
Veya waved her palm - the terrain changed. Instead of golden mountains and a stream, we found ourselves in a marvelous, moving, transparent “city” (at least, it looked like a city). And straight towards us, along a wide, wetly shining silver “road”, a stunning man was slowly walking... He was a tall, proud old man, who could not be called anything else other than - majestic!.. Everything about him was somehow... sometimes very correct and wise - and thoughts as pure as crystal (which for some reason I heard very clearly); and long silver hair covering him with a shimmering cloak; and the same amazingly kind, huge purple “Vain’s” eyes... And on his high forehead there was a shining, marvelously sparkling gold, diamond “star”.
“Rest in peace, Father,” Veya said quietly, touching her forehead with her fingers.
“And you, the one who has left,” the old man answered sadly.
There was an air of endless kindness and affection from him. And suddenly I really wanted how to a small child, bury yourself in his lap and hide from everything for at least a few seconds, inhaling the deep peace emanating from him, and not think about the fact that I’m scared... that I don’t know where my home is... and that I I don’t know at all where I am, and what’s really happening to me at the moment...
“Who are you, creature?..” I mentally heard his gentle voice.
“I’m a man,” I answered. - Sorry for disturbing your peace. My name is Svetlana.
The elder looked at me warmly and carefully with his wise eyes, and for some reason approval shone in them.
“You wanted to see the Wise One - you see him,” Veya said quietly. – Do you want to ask something?
- Please tell me, in your wonderful world does evil exist? – although ashamed of my question, I still decided to ask.
– What do you call “evil”, Man-Svetlana? - asked the sage.
– Lies, murder, betrayal... Don’t you have such words?..
– It was a long time ago... no one remembers anymore. Just me. But we know what it was. This is embedded in our “ancient memory” so that we never forget. Have you come from where evil lives?
I nodded sadly. I was very upset for my native Earth, and for the fact that life on it was so wildly imperfect that it forced me to ask such questions... But, at the same time, I really wanted Evil to leave our Home forever, because that I loved this house with all my heart, and very often dreamed that someday such a wonderful day would come when:
