Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. Khanty-Mansiysk

The author of the modern heraldic symbol of this young Russian city was Yaroslav Levko. The image looks simply gorgeous in color photos, stylish and concise. All this is thanks to the strict selection of elements and colors that are in harmony with each other.

Description of the coat of arms

If you read the heraldic description of the main official symbol of the city of Khanty-Mansiysk, then an uninitiated person will encounter many incomprehensible words, such as bezant, shingles, folded in a star shape. This term-rich description is suitable for scientific articles and reports.

A simple person will see very simple elements in the heraldic symbol of the city, each of which has its own deep meaning. The shield of the coat of arms of Khanty-Mansiysk has a French shape, the most popular among Russian coats of arms. In fact, the shield is divided into two fields - azure, symbolizing the sky, and emerald, a color reminiscent of the endless forest wealth in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

A besant is a traditional heraldry figure in the form of a golden ball, symbolizing wealth and good luck, in a figurative meaning - joy, warmth. This element is also present on the city’s coat of arms, although only half of the golden ball is visible; it symbolizes not only material wealth, but is also a symbol of the sun, which gives warmth and life.

A shingle is also a popular heraldic figure and is simply a rectangle. There are nine shingles on the coat of arms of Khanty-Mansiysk, but they are difficult to notice, since they are collected in groups of three, and from a distance they look like snowflakes. Why these symbols adorn the city’s coat of arms is understandable, since locality located beyond the Urals, the winters here are quite long and snowy.

Another important character– a silver crane located on a green field. The bird is shown soaring upward, with its wings spread wide. The representative of the kingdom of birds, firstly, symbolizes the richness of the local fauna, and secondly, it acts as a symbol of pristine purity.

Symbolism of flowers

The city coat of arms contains popular heraldic colors, two of which are precious - gold and silver. The golden color is a symbol of wealth, prosperity, because in the region large reserves oil, then the choice of a precious shade is quite understandable. Silver color is nobility, the desire for purity in thoughts and actions.

Two more colors, emerald and azure, are traditionally associated with the nature of the region. Azure reminds of the water resources of the region, emerald reminds of the taiga.
